As a Haitian immigrant, my personal experiences have strengthened my passion for advancing health equity, expanding access to quality healthcare, and addressing the social, environmental, and structural factors that influence health outcomes.

Throughout my career, I have sought opportunities to bridge research, education, technology, and community engagement to improve population health. Whether working with community organizations, developing innovative public health technologies, conducting research, or designing student-centered learning experiences, I remain committed to preparing future public health professionals to become compassionate, ethical, and effective leaders.

Biography

Educator, researcher, and practitioner.

I am a public health educator, researcher, and practitioner dedicated to improving population health through teaching, scholarship, and community engagement. My professional interests include health equity, community health, epidemiology, environmental health, health informatics, geographic information systems (GIS), systems thinking, and translational public health research.

My work is grounded in the belief that public health education should extend beyond the classroom by equipping students with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and practical experiences necessary to address real-world health challenges. I strive to foster inclusive learning environments that encourage curiosity, collaboration, cultural humility, and lifelong learning while preparing students to become leaders who improve the health and well-being of diverse communities.

Current Role

Systems Engineering Manager

I currently serve as a Systems Engineering Manager with the Community Translational Research Institute (CTRI), where I support collaborative initiatives focused on community resource mapping, systems integration, and data-informed approaches to improving population health. My doctoral research also includes the development of a resource application designed to strengthen collaboration between healthcare, academic, and community organizations.

Empowering agents of positive change.

Teaching is an opportunity to empower students to become agents of positive change. I believe the classroom should be an environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, collaborate respectfully, and apply knowledge to real-world public health challenges.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in learner-centered instruction, inclusive excellence, and evidence-based educational practices. I design courses using principles such as Backward Design, constructive alignment, authentic assessment, and active learning to ensure that students not only acquire disciplinary knowledge but also develop the professional skills and ethical perspectives needed to succeed throughout their careers.

Ultimately, my goal is to help students discover their potential, cultivate intellectual curiosity, and develop the confidence to improve the health of the communities they will one day serve.
